See Clearly at All Distances with ReSTOR® IOL
For patients suffering from cataracts who wish they could still see clearly at all distances, Dr. Jim Montgomery offers ReSTOR® IOL at his Northglenn, CO, office. In contrast to standard monofocal IOLs, this state-of-the-art lens technology allows patients to see at all distances without the need for bifocals or reading glasses. The results are so drastic that 95 percent of patients who received ReSTOR® IOL during clinical trials said they would have the lens implanted again.

Why Choose ReSTOR IOL?
In contrast to the monofocal IOLs that cataract patients were often stuck with in the past, ReSTOR IOL allows patients to see at all distances without the need for bifocals or reading glasses. Furthermore, patients often find that this IOL option:
- Eliminates much of the night vision distortions associated with standard IOLs
- Reduces the loss of contrast typically that often comes with standard IOLs
- Gets rid of the need for glasses or contacts altogether
- Improves overall quality of life
Am I a Candidate for ReSTOR IOL?
In general, candidates for ReSTOR IOL should have:
- A desire to be rid of glasses or reading aids
- Advanced cataracts in one or both eyes
- Realistic expectations as to what ReSTOR IOL can deliver
- A desire to see clearly at all distances
Certain medical conditions can disqualify a candidate from ReSTOR IOL, however. Some of these include advanced macular degeneration, Fuchs’ dystrophy, and glaucoma.
It is also important to note that this IOL costs more than standard options. Consequently, while most insurance plans cover the cost of cataract surgeries that are deemed medically necessary, advanced lenses like ReSTOR may not be fully covered. However, we can work with you to find the option that best fits your budget.
How ReSTOR IOL Works
Because standard intraocular lenses can only focus at one distance, patients must choose one preferred range of vision at the cost of others. As a result, even if you have long distance vision, you will still need bifocals for reading.
In contrast, ReSTOR IOL has a multi-tiered surface built in concentric rings that are 300 times thinner than a human hair. This design allows the lens to gather and transmit light evenly over a full range of distances. The thinner outer edge brings images from far distances into focus while the thicker lens at the center allows you to focus closer objects. This effect is further enhanced by the combination of three technologies: apodization, diffraction, and refraction. As a result, ReSTOR IOL much more closely mimics the function of our natural lens, which adjusts its shape to focus at different distances.
Take Advantage of ReSTOR IOL Today
If you are undergoing cataract surgery or any procedure that requires the replacement of one or both of the lenses in your eyes, ReSTOR IOL is a proven and effective implant lens that can deliver clear vision at all distances. Most patients can qualify for the technology. To learn more about the benefits of ReSTOR IOL, contact our office online or call (303) 252-9981.
